QUICK ANSWERS

Image upscaler FAQs

Answers about scale, formats, and getting better upscaling results.

How do I upscale an image online?

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image, choose 2x or 4x, and select Upscale image. Use the comparison handle to review the result, then download the high-resolution PNG.

Which image formats can I use?

The upscaler accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 20 MB. The finished image downloads as a PNG.

What is the maximum output size?

Results are limited to 6144 pixels on the longest side on desktop and 4096 pixels on phones so the editor stays stable in your browser. Very large images are reduced before processing.

Why does 4x take longer than 2x?

A 4x image contains four times the width and height of the source, which means far more pixels must be restored and written. Processing time also depends on your image size and browser hardware.

Can an image upscaler fix a blurry photo?

The tool can improve soft edges and make low-resolution photos look clearer. It cannot reliably recreate detail that is completely absent, so a well-lit source with some visible detail gives the best result.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

The upscaler processes your image in your browser. Your downloaded file is created directly from the upscaled preview.

Why does the fitted preview look similar to the original?

Fit view displays both images at the same on-screen size so you can see the whole photo. Select 100% zoom or drag the compare handle across fine edges to inspect the extra output pixels.
