Text-to-image example: a product concept

A matte terracotta coffee mug on a pale stone tabletop, soft morning window light from the left, a warm neutral background, realistic ceramic texture, square composition with room around the mug. No text or additional objects.

Reference-image example: a new setting

Keep the mug's shape, handle and terracotta colour from the uploaded photo. Replace the background with a light kitchen counter and add soft daylight. Keep the whole mug visible and avoid adding lettering.

Practical tips for more useful results

  • Lead with the subject. Add the composition and lighting next. A specific brief is easier to revise than a long list of unrelated styles.
  • Separate changes from details to preserve. For edits, name the background, colours or objects to change, then describe what should remain.
  • Use clear references. Avoid blurred images or screenshots with unnecessary borders. With two images, explain the role of each.
  • Inspect the details. Check lettering, hands, geometry and product features. For exact brand text or dimensions, finish the artwork in an editing tool.
  • Revise one thing at a time. Change a specific instruction between attempts. Generation time and results vary with the image service.

What is GPT Image 2?

GPT Image 2 is an OpenAI model for image generation and editing. This GenImager page provides text-to-image and reference-image editing workflows. GenImager is a separate service; availability depends on its configured generation service.

Can I generate an image without uploading a photo?

Yes. Select Text to Image and write a prompt of 10–2000 characters. This form requests a square image. Describe the subject, background, lighting and composition, then select Generate Now.

Which reference images can I upload?

Image to Image accepts one or two JPG, PNG or WebP files, up to 10 MB each. Add a prompt of 10–2000 characters explaining what to change and what to preserve. Uploads are sent to the configured image service for processing.

Is GPT Image 2 generation free on GenImager?

Generation requires a GenImager account and is subject to your subscription's image limits. Check the pricing page and your account for current access and allowances. An OpenAI or ChatGPT subscription does not establish your GenImager allowance.

Can I choose resolution, quality or a transparent background?

This page does not expose resolution, quality, output-format or transparency controls. Text to Image requests a square image; reference-image output depends on the generation service. Do not assume that every option supported by the underlying model is available in this form.

How do I download a result, and will it have a watermark?

When generation succeeds, the image appears in Output Gallery. Use its download icon to save it. The current service adds a watermark for accounts not marked premium. Review the image before use, especially text, product details and any areas you asked to preserve.
